Vietnam exports fishing and construction workers to Thailand

Four centers and five Vietnamese enterprises will start sending workers in two fishing and construction industries to Thailand from May 2016.

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam and the Ministry of Labor of Thailand have just implemented a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in labor and a labor recruitment agreement between the two countries signed in 2015. Thailand started accepting laborers. active in Vietnam in both fishing and construction since May 2016.

Mr. Tong Hai Nam, Deputy Director of Overseas Labor Management, said that the two sides have agreed on the process and procedures for sending laborers, export costs, and a list of Vietnamese labor dispatching units. At the end of this April, Thailand will announce the form of the labor contract, orientation training documents for workers before leaving the country, the content of the health check, the list of receiving agencies in Thailand as well as the list of receiving agencies in Thailand. labor costs to be paid to be able to go abroad.

There are 4 centers and 5 enterprises licensed to bring Vietnamese workers to Thailand, including: Center for Overseas Labor (under the Ministry of Labor), Employment Service Center of Nghe An Province (under the Department of Labor and Technology). An), Employment Service Center of Ha Tinh Province (under Ha Tinh Department of Labor), Employment Service Center of Quang Binh Province (under Quang Binh Department of Labor) and SONA, TTLC, Thinh Long Corp. "These are units with experience in labor export, have Thai partners to cooperate in labor supply, and are geographically and regionally convenient when there are many skilled workers in fishing and construction." Mr. Nam informed.

The 15-article agreement, signed in July 2015, is a legal framework for Vietnamese and Thai workers to work legally, ending illegal labor in recent years. Based on reality, Thailand will consider opening new industries to receive more workers from Vietnam.
